About Us
Alert Safety Technologies (AST) believes that everyone has the right to be able to access safety from hazardous, life threatening emergency situations. We are therefore committed to providing the most innovative Emergency escape solutions possible.

AST was formed in July 2000 to design, develop and commercialise the Safescape® emergency escape system. Safescape® allows for windows to be used as an emergency escape route either as an additional exit or as an alternative route if doors become jammed or are inoperable. The system is easy to fit, simple and quick to use and could save lives if emergency escape is needed.

The company was founded by the Directors of McGregor Young Limited and SAFEGLASS® (Europe) Limited. The founders have over 50 years experience of designing and creating new products and services. Our strong team has driven the company forward to become the market leader in emergency escape technology.

SAFEGLASS® (Europe) Limited
SAFEGLASS® (Europe) Limited was set up to develop and commercialize a new polymer based material, Safeglass. Safeglass mimics the characteristics of glass, but when broken, forms pieces that do not cut or cause injury. It is used in break glass devices where the glass has to be broken to operate the device, such as fire alarm call points, emergency equipment covers, access panels, door release covers, kick-out panels.

SAFEGLASS® supplies numerous customers in Europe within the rail and bus sector such as Virgin, Stagecoach and First Group. Customers also include train builders such as Bombardier, Siemens and Alstom.

A strong customer relationship combined with a quality product has enabled SAFEGLASS® to establish itself as the premier supplier of "break glass" in Europe.
